Service details:

The John Denmark Unit aims to provide mental health services to meet the needs of people who are deaf. The centre provides in-patient, out-patient and day patient services for deaf people of all ages and with all types of problems. Activities are organised to support clients, foster a deaf identity, facilitate a positve self-image and develop esteem within the deaf community. In addition to providing clinical services the Unit conducts research and provides training in all aspects of mental health and deafness. The John Denmark Unit also provides advice and support to other agencies and people working for deaf clients with mental health problems.
