(Formerley known as the Manic Depression Fellowship) MDF The Bipolar Organisation is a national user led organisation which works to enable people affected by manic depression/bipolar disorder to take contriol of their lives. Services include: network of self help grouups for people with manic depression/bipolar, their relatives and friends, a quarterly journal Pendulum, publications, research papers, Self Management training programme, employment advice, travel insurance scheme, 24hr Legal Advice Line, life assurance scheme, STEADY (the young person's management programme), bulletin boards and chat rooms. The Organisation aims to educate the public and professionals about manic depression and campaings for greater research into methods of treatment.
