About the site

www.mentalhealthleeds.info originally went live on October 10th 2002. You are now looking at the second phase, with our new, improved version.

This is part of our continual improvement in information for anyone in Leeds interested in mental health.

Searchable Database

On this website you can, among other things, search for organisations that are working to promote and improve the mental health of people in and around Leeds. Anyone with access to the net can rapidly find the information they need about local organisations at any time of day or night. The site is also a gateway to a huge range of other organisations by clicking on the 'hyperlinks' within the details of organisations (if they have a website).

Up-to-date information

We update organisations' details regularly, as we get news of any changes. That's why it's important that you send us any amendments about your own organisation, or about others. We are confident that this website is and will remain the most up to date form of the Leeds Mental Health Directory.

Paper Resources

We know that many people do not have access to the Internet. We also know that different people take in information in different ways. That is why we also continually work on a range of other information resources. For example we publish a printed version of the Leeds Mental Health directory, a new edition of which is now in process, which we are aiming to be printed late 2007.  We have also worked in partnership with the Leeds Mental Health Trust to provide information to people in hospitals, and with several other organisations (such as the local Primary Care Trust) to help provide appropriate information resources for their communities. We will keep you informed of all developments on this site.

Developments to the site

The site, especially the database, is being very well used but we know there may still be things that can be improved. That's why we need your feedback - we'll need to know whether it is meeting your needs.

You can now read and print off a variety of leaflets, and local and national policy documents etc.  We want to make the site accessible to people who use community languages (we are currently planning the production of audio clips in several languages to put on the site) and we want to do much more.

That's why we need your ideas - we can't guarantee to be able to carry them out, but we will definitely listen, and think about them.

Funders

This website has been funded and supported by Leeds Mind, Leeds City Council Social Services, and  Leeds Primary Care Trust.
